Important Pro League Rules

The Pro League is raved about because our members don’t just talk the talk… they walk the walk.

In order to maintain the highest value for all our members, we have a few rules you’ll need to follow.

Avoid breaking any of these and you’ll LOVE everything you get out of the Pro League.

IMPORTANT: Please be sure to use the email you purchased with. Unregistered emails get banned from the Slack group weekly to prevent unpaid members from getting the benefits of our paid members.

1. Create a username – not a business name.

We’re a pretty close group, and we got that way because we are all people in there… We don’t really want to call someone by their business name. We like to get to know YOU the person.
Here's how you can change your username: https://slack.com/help/articles/216360827-Change-your-display-name

2. Use a profile picture of yourself – not your logo.

Here are the steps for uploading a profile photo: https://slack.com/help/articles/115005506003-Upload-a-profile-photo

3. Link sharing is limited.

  •  Sharing links outside of these channels can get you banned without a refund.
  •  You can share links to articles, launches, or your favorite YouTube videos in the Off-Topic Channel.
  •  You can post links to your content in the Content Production channel to get feedback before launching.

4. Don’t get your feelings hurt.

Seriously… many ad buyers give direct feedback without beating around the bush. It can be painful to hear the hard truth sometimes, but our goal is that all feedback is constructive. (We haven’t had this problem, but if you feel like someone’s feedback is abusive and not constructive, PM one of our Guardians for help).

5. No Messenger Bots. Period.

We get it… you’re testing out the messenger bots because they’re popular. Kudos to you for being on top of your game… however, we have a strict “no harvesting” rule. Messenger bots are a slippery slope to breaking that rule… so it’s better just to not post links to them. If you want someone to help test your new ad, PM someone directly.

6. The AdSkills team and selected members are our moderators.

They help to protect the awesome content marketing community. If you break any of the rules, they’ll give you two warnings. The third infraction will get you banned without a refund. If you’re having trouble with anything, please message one of them directly for help.

7. Lastly, Tell us who you are!

When you log in, you might have the urge to just be a stalker in the group, but we encourage you to at least make 1 post telling us who you are and at least one of your goals for joining the group. You’ll see that we’re a friendly bunch and encourage each other to reach new levels. You can post this short introduction in the “Off-Topic” channel (that’s the default channel you’ll be logged into the first time you sign on).
